Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking a Leakage Detection Senior Operative to monitor and protect water network infrastructure using specialised equipment. You will detect leaks, interpret data, and report findings, supporting the Leakage Detection Team Lead.

Night-time work may be required, with overtime as needed. Responsibilities include DMA maintenance, surveys, and data collection to identify leakage sources, coordinating with Water Network Operations and customer service teams.

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
• A minimum of 2 years' relevant experience is required. Experience in a similar role in the water, utilities or similar industries would be an advantage

Responsibilities

• Responsible for undertaking UFW reduction activities within the water network to deliver leakage targets.
• Assist with DMA maintenance and supervision of DMA meters.
• Carry out leakage surveys and sweeps and monitor DMAs for operability.
• Isolate and re-commission sections of the network in a controlled manner.
• Install and monitor leakage detection equipment and data-loggers; inspect meters.
• Provide leadership for junior team members and drive performance.
• Collect and interpret data to identify potential leakage areas (flow, pressure, LMS data).
• Engage with private side customers to locate leakage sources when needed.
• Carry out tests with data-loggers and pressure devices and report findings.
• Maintain contact with Water Network Operations on network performance and pressures.
• Assist Customer Contact Centre with queries and complaint resolution related to leakage.
