Job summary

Uisce Éireann is seeking a Leakage Detection Operative to monitor and analyse the water network, identify leaks, and coordinate with maintenance teams for rapid intervention. The role involves outdoor work, using specialised equipment and handheld devices, and requires a full, clean Irish driving license.

Night shifts and on-call support may be required across regions. The successful candidate will contribute to cost-efficient operations and continuous improvement while maintaining strong health

Qualifications

• Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in water/utility or similar industries is advantageous.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work in outdoor environments.
• Capable of using handheld tech and learning new tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and detect leakage across the water network.
• Use monitoring equipment to measure water flow and pressure in assigned region.
• Isolate and re-commission sections of the distribution network to minimise impact.
• Escalate detected leakages to enable early intervention by maintenance teams.
• Maintain and improve processes for data collection and reporting.
