Emergn is a technology and management consultancy based in Ireland. We are seeking a Senior/Lead PHP Full-stack Engineer to build enterprise applications end to end in PHP and Angular, collaborating with Business Analysts to drive solutions rather than mere implementation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with PHP.
• Experience in leading and managing teams.
• Hands-on experience in Symfony.
• Angular experience (2+, ideally 15) for building modern front-ends.
• Expertise in relational databases, particularly MSSQL, plus Redis caching.
• Strong grasp of design patterns (MVC, Dependency Injection, CQRS) and architecture styles (microservices, layered).
• Experience building and securing REST APIs, including OAuth.
• Experience delivering in Agile/Scrum with a solid testing discipline covering unit and integration tests.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across a PHP (Symfony) back-end and an Angular front-end.
• Take ownership of the whole solution, collaborating with the Business Analyst to shape requirements rather than waiting for them to be handed over.
• Architect and integrate services using microservices and layered patterns, exposing and consuming secure REST APIs.
• Model and optimize data in MSSQL and improve performance with Redis caching.
• Apply solid engineering practices such as MVC, Dependency Injection, and CQRS, backed by a clear test strategy of unit and integration tests.
• Contribute actively within an Agile/Scrum team, bringing a proactive, business-minded, and curious mindset.
