MCS Group is partnering with a growing Irish technology company building secure, AI-powered software for international markets. They seek a Senior Full Stack Developer to join the engineering team and help scale the platform across multiple technologies.

The role involves working across a product, not limited to one technology, with Java/Spring, TypeScript, React, Angular, and AWS. You’ll solve problems, own what you build, and contribute to architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong background in modern application development.
• Experience with Java and Spring.
• Frontend experience with React or Angular.
• REST API design and integration.
• Cloud AWS experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve applications using Java/Spring, TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Develop and integrate APIs across backend and frontend systems.

What you'll be doing

Senior Full Stack Developer

Dublin | Hybrid, 2-3 days per week | €70,000-€80,000

Your work will include:

• Building and improving applications using Java/Spring, TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Developing and integrating APIs across backend and frontend systems
• Working with React and Angular applications
• Building scalable services within AWS
• Improving existing architecture as the platform continues to evolve
• Working with relational databases and optimising performance
• Troubleshooting production and application issues
• Contributing to architectural and technical decisions
• Using AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity
• Participating in code reviews and supporting other engineers
• Working closely with product, engineering and other teams to take problems from idea through to production

What they're looking for

You'll ideally have around 5+ years of commercial software development experience and a strong background in modern application development.

The strongest candidates are will have:

• Strong Java and Spring experience
• Commercial experience with modern frontend development, ideally React or Angular
• TypeScript and/or JavaScript experience
• Experience designing and integrating REST APIs
• Strong relational database knowledge
• Cloud experience, ideally AWS
• Git and CI/CD experience
• Experience debugging and improving production applications
• Experience in a start-up or scaling company

You don't need to be an expert in every technology they use.

In fact, they're particularly interested in developers who can demonstrate times they've had to pick up an unfamiliar language, framework or technology and become productive with it.

The type of person who will do well

Technical ability is important, but this isn't an environment where you'll simply be handed perfectly defined tickets.

You'll be trusted to work things out.

They want someone who:

• Takes ownership of problems
• Is comfortable working autonomously
• Asks the right questions when requirements aren't clear
• Spots opportunities to improve products and processes
• Enjoys learning new technologies
• Can collaborate with both technical and non-technical colleagues
