Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable enterprise applications using Java, microservices, Kafka, Oracle, and React. You will drive architectural excellence and best practices across backend and frontend domains.

You will lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and help bridge frontend API contracts with occasional React workflows, emphasizing robust, resilient systems and clean interfaces.

Qualifications

• Core Java with concurrency, memory management, and Java 8+ paradigms.
• Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud expertise.
• Kafka production experience, partitioning, retention, replication, delivery guarantees.
• Oracle SQL/PLSQL, debugging locks, isolation levels, complex joins.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and event‑driven distributed architectures.
• Refactor landscapes using patterns like Domain‑Driven Design, Event Sourcing, Circuit Breakers for maintainability and resilience.
• Lead design reviews and create architectural blueprints mapping system interactions and data flows.
• Author optimized Oracle SQL/PLSQL queries; analyze slow queries and improve performance via indexing or caching.
• Design Kafka topics and event streams to ensure data consistency, fault tolerance, and low latency across microservices.
• Manage distributed transactions using Saga patterns where ACID across databases is impractical.

The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable enterprise applications using Java, Microservices, Kafka, Oracle, and React while driving architectural excellence and engineering best practices.

Your responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and event‑driven distributed architectures.
• Evaluate existing application landscapes and identify areas where refactoring to proper design patterns (e.g., Domain‑Driven Design, Event Sourcing, Circuit Breakers) improves maintainability and system resilience.
• Lead design reviews and construct technical blueprints that map clear system interactions and data flows.
• Author highly optimized, transactional schemas and queries in Oracle RDBMS; diagnose slow‑running queries using execution plans and introduce indexing or caching schemas appropriately.
• Design event streams and topic schemas in Apache Kafka that guarantee data consistency, fault tolerance, and minimal latency across independent microservices.
• Manage complex distributed transaction patterns (e.g., Saga Pattern) where traditional ACID properties across single databases are unachievable.

Leadership & Full‑Stack Evolution (30%)

• Conduct rigorous code and architecture reviews, acting as a gatekeeper for code quality, structural integrity, and architectural consistency.
• Mentor mid‑level engineers by explicitly breaking down architectural tradeoffs during pair programming or architectural debates.
• (Bonus) Act as a bridge to the frontend ecosystem by designing clean, contract‑first REST or GraphQL APIs and occasionally developing responsive user workflows in React.

Your Profile:

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

Must‑Have Backend Expertise

• Core Java: Deep comprehension of concurrency models, memory management (JVM tuning), generics, Collections framework, and functional paradigms introduced in Java 8+.
• Spring Ecosystem: Comprehensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud. Must be able to explain how dependency injection functions at a runtime level.
• Distributed Messaging: Production experience using Apache Kafka. You should understand partitioning strategies, retention policies, replication factors, and delivery guarantees (at‑least‑once vs. exactly‑once).
• Relational Databases: Exceptional Oracle SQL and PL/SQL skills. Proven capability in debugging locks, understanding isolation levels, and optimizing complex joins or batch processing jobs.

Must‑Have Design Metrology

• Mastery of SOLID principles and classic Gang of Four (GoF) design patterns.
• Experience architecting microservices with distributed communication vulnerabilities in mind (handling partial failures, retries, and dead‑letter queues).

Frontend Ecosystem:Practical experience with React, state management libraries (Redux, Context API), and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite). Comfortable managing state synchronization between client and server.
