Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Donegal, Ireland, invites applications for a Senior AI Engineer role. You will lead engineering of Agentic AI systems, partnering with Data Scientists, Data Engineers and DevSecOps to deliver scalable ML solutions.

You will design and deploy models, automate tests and deployments, and continuously learn new technologies while coaching others. Strong skills in Python, C++, SQL and cloud-based AI are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or Eng or related field.
• Experience in software engineering and system design areas (requirements, coding, testing, APIs, microservices).
• Strong ML/dl knowledge with frameworks like TensorFlow/PyTorch; NLP/vision/predictive analytics.
• Model monitoring, bias detection, explainability and governance experience.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions/Jenkins/CloudBees; MLflow/SageMaker pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop and deploy ML models and Agentic AI systems with Product and Data Science teams.

The Role

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will lead the engineering of Agentic AI systems and partner with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, DevSecOps and other professionals to implement machine learning models and Agentic AI systems that deliver stability, producibility, scalability and integration with other products and services. You will implement capabilities to solve sophisticated business problems and deploy innovative products, services and experiences that delight our customers. In addition to advanced technical expertise and experience, you will bring excellent problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills, agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do.

Your responsibilities:

• Architect, design, develop and deploy machine learning models and Agentic AI systems that solve real-world business problems, working in collaboration with Product and Data Science teams, and remove complex technical impediments.
• Solve complex problems by writing and testing application code, developing and validating machine learning models and Agentic AI, and automating tests and deployment using LLM tools such as Claude Code.
• Leverage cloud-based architectures and technologies to deliver optimized machine learning models at scale.
• Construct optimized data, ingestion and memory pipelines to feed machine learning models and Agentic systems.
• Apply continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices, including test automation and monitoring, to support successful deployment of machine learning models and application code.
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, provide input, coach team members, and embed learning and innovation into day-to-day work.
• Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variables.
• Use programming languages including, but not limited to, Python, C++ and SQL.

Your Profile:

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or experience in related fields.
• Advanced experience and/or expertise across several software engineering and system design areas, including requirements analysis, coding, testing, version control, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, distributed computing, architecture patterns, computer architecture and object-oriented programming.
• Strong understanding of machine learning and deep learning, including supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning; algorithms such as linear and logistic regression; frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch and scikit-learn; neural networks, NLP, computer vision and predictive analytics.
• Experience in model performance and governance, including model monitoring and validation, bias detection, explainability, performance, drift, outliers and agent observability.
• Thorough understanding of the Agent Development Life Cycle (ADLC), CI/CD/CT pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins and CloudBees, A/B testing, pipeline frameworks such as MLflow and SageMaker Pipelines, and model and data versioning.
• Experience in data integration, transformation and processing, including data mapping and wrangling, big data ecosystems, relational, NoSQL and graph databases, unstructured and semi-structured data, distributed processing with Spark or PySpark, and knowledge graphs.
• Knowledge of database structures and efficient use, including multiple data environments, cloud/AWS, primary and foreign key relationships, table design, database schemas, SQL, NoSQL, graph or ontology databases, semantic data models and knowledge graphs.
• Strong knowledge of statistics and computing, including linear algebra, probability and statistics, multivariate calculus, and distributions such as Poisson, Normal and Binomial.
• Programming experience in Python, C++ and SQL.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to coach others with minimal guidance and effectively leverage diverse ideas, experiences, thoughts and perspectives for the benefit of the organization.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and Specification-Driven Development (SDD).
• Knowledge of business concepts, tools and processes needed to make sound decisions in the context of the company’s business.
• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge on an ongoing basis through self-initiative and by tackling challenges.
