Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the engineering function on key projects across building and infrastructure. You’ll coordinate with the line manager, set on-site engineering strategy and ensure QA, record keeping and Temporary Works control are robust.

The role also involves maintaining safety and quality, overseeing as-built surveys, managing NCRs and lifting permits, and guiding junior engineers to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Dangers of underground services and risk controls.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with digital information systems such as A-Site and Viewpoint.
• Significant experience in design management.
• Exposure to piling, geotechnical, substructures including waterproofing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates advanced dimensional control across global/local grids.
• Manages survey equipment with site and graduate engineers.
• Oversees as-built surveys and tolerance analysis across interfaces.
• Maintains daily diaries.
• Applies QA principles; reviews/creates ITPs; knowledge of concrete, drainage, steelwork, brickwork.
• Understands project specifications and tolerances for structural elements.
• Manages NCRs; closes non-conformances; understands defect costs.
• Issuing Permits to break ground.
• Reviews and creates method statements and risk assessments.
• Identifies missing information; strong RFI process knowledge.
