Job summary

John Sisk & Son is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead on-site delivery of civil engineering projects, ensuring quality, safety, and financial performance. You will coordinate contract processes, manage the on-site team and supply chain, and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.

The role emphasizes preconstruction planning, design coordination, and rigorous cost control, with a focus on HSEQS compliance and timely project completion.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in commercial systems management or estimating support within construction.
• Knowledge of Estimating software such as Conquest, CostX or similar.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to prepare accurate contractual correspondence and reports under tight timelines.
• Knowledge of design and build processes and delivery planning for multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong IT literacy and systems capability.
• Analytical and numerate with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction: develop contract programme, advise on preliminary expenditures, lead start-up meetings, oversee subcontract buying schedule, notify authorities, draft sitelogistics and HSE considerations, attend design team meetings, prepare project programmes and cost submissions.
• Construction & Delivery: manage project execution planning, risk management, commercial performance, HSEQS compliance, stakeholder engagement, design management, project administration and close-out, ensure competent team and supply chain.
• Subcontractor & Commercial Management: lead subcontractor selection, monitor QS/Site Manager, manage performance and cost control, approve expenditures and appointments.
• Pre Construction & Close out: lead defect management, assist loss and expense, oversee commissioning and handover, drive continuous improvement and PDPs.
