Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner in Ireland, seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and evolve large-scale, customer-facing infrastructure. You will own systems end-to-end, from architecture to production operations, spanning cloud architecture, deployment systems, observability, performance, security, and tooling.

You will mentor engineers, drive cross-team decisions, and uphold a security-first approach while delivering reliable, scalable platforms for growing workloads.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or backend engineering in cloud environments (preferably AWS).
• Demonstrated experience owning a significant product or subsystem from design through production.
• T-shaped technical expertise with deep specialization in one or two infrastructure domains.

Responsibilities

• Own a core infrastructure product end-to-end including design, deployment, and operation.
• Define objectives, align with business goals, and identify risks.
• Translate requirements into pragmatic designs addressing edge cases.
• Build secure, resilient, high-performing, cost-efficient infrastructure for diverse workloads.
• Develop and ship developer-facing tooling to improve productivity and reduce toil.
• Manage infrastructure through code using Terraform, maintaining architectural consistency.
• Partner with product teams to design scalable services and resolve requirements.
• Participate in incident response and systematic debugging across services.
• Improve monitoring and observability to enhance stability and performance.
• Apply a security-first mindset to infrastructure and code reviews.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and design discussions.
• Facilitate collaboration across teams on architecture and priorities.
