Jobgether, partnering with a client in Ireland, seeks a Software Engineer (Backend) with enterprise experience to build robust Go services for large organizations.

You will work on scalable systems, database schemas, migrations, observability, security, and end-to-end ownership from design to production, collaborating with product, platform, and QA teams. This role combines hands-on Go development with database engineering and distributed systems in a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Production Go experience.
• Solid understanding of Go concurrency (goroutines, channels, sync).
• Comfortable with SQL, relational DBs, migrations.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship backend features end to end, including design, implementation, testing and rollout.
• Design and implement database migrations with safe upgrades.
• Develop observability, auditing, and security capabilities for admins.
• Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks under production-like workloads.
• Triage backend issues reported by platform operators and admins.
• Document decisions and participate in RFC-style technical discussions.
• Contribute to on-call rotations and maintain reliable production systems.
• Collaborate with backend, platform, QA, and design teams to improve operator experience.
