Job summary

COWI A/S seeks a High Voltage Engineer in Ireland to supervise the design of electrical transmission systems, including substations and HV cabling. The role involves collaborating with global teams and applying UK and Irish standards while focusing on the design environment.

You will contribute to multi-disciplinary projects, mentor juniors, and help build strong client relationships in a hybrid work setting across Ireland and the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status or similar required.
• Experience working to Irish & UK DNO standards; National Grid experience an advantage.
• Hands-on design experience for HV systems 33-132 kV including GIS/AIS.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of projects for diverse clients.
• Plan design work and deliverables with project team.
• Develop and technically assure designs with relevant software.
• Ensure compliance with Irish/UK transmission standards.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary aspects of projects.
• Mentor junior team members in design.
• Build client and stakeholder relationships.
