Job summary

Stantec Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer specialising in high‑voltage cable design to contribute to HVDC interconnectors, wind farms, substations and grid connections across Ireland.

You will support and lead design activities from feasibility to detailed design, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with internal teams and key clients to deliver safe, innovative energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers (EI) preferred.
• Experience in civil substation engineering and HV civil projects.
• Hands-on design experience across Concept, FEED, and Detail design.
• Knowledge of international standards for utility clients.

Responsibilities

• Support and lead HV cable systems design across feasibility to detail design.
• Coordinate with internal teams and clients, including EirGrid.
• Mentor junior engineers and develop engineering solutions.
