Job summary

Stantec Ireland is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in HV cable design to contribute to HVDC interconnectors, offshore/onshore wind, substations, and grid connections across Ireland. You will design, review, and deliver HV cable systems from feasibility to detailed design, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and key clients such as EirGrid.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).
Membership of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland (EI) preferred.
Experience in design of transmission and distribution systems across stages (Concept, FEED, Detail).
Proficient in HV cable design and standards for utility clients.

Responsibilities

Support and lead design activities across all project phases from feasibility to delivery.
Design and deliver high‑voltage cable systems for Ireland infrastructure and renewables.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients, including EirGrid, to address complex challenges.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.
