Job summary

TLI Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on HV Cable Design to lead MV/HV cable projects in Cork, Ireland. You will deliver end-to-end design for underground cables, ensuring compliance with Irish standards and client requirements within a multidisciplinary grid delivery team.

Responsibilities include routing, civil works coordination, and adherence to EirGrid/ESBN specifications, while providing planning support and cost estimates.

Qualifications

HV cable design experience in MV/HV networks (3+ years as engineer or 7+ years as senior engineer).
Familiar with EirGrid/ESBN design standards and functional specifications.
Proficient in cable modelling software and general CAD/GIS tools.

Responsibilities

Cable System Engineering: cable sizing, ampacity, installation feasibility.
Civil & Route Design: route constraints, trench layouts, HDD profiles.
Standards & Compliance: IEC/ESB/EirGrid standards adherence.
Planning Support: environmental inputs, EIAR/PECR scoping.
Interfacing & Coordination: liaising with substation, civil, OHL teams and external consultants.
Procurement & Construction: input to tendering and material take-offs.
