Job summary
TLI Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer focused on High Voltage Cable Design to deliver MV/HV underground cable systems for Irish grid connections. The role covers feasibility, planning, and detailed design, ensuring compliance with Irish and international standards.
You will lead route selection, interface coordination with EirGrid/ESBN, and deliver robust design packages for tender and construction.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (Level 8+) is required or nearing completion.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with Engineers Ireland or working toward is expected.
- Strong understanding of HV power systems and UGC design.
- Proficiency in CYMCAP or similar cable modelling software.
- Proficiency in CAD/GIS tools for route and design work.
Responsibilities
- Perform HV cable design and ampacity/thermal analysis for MV/HV networks.
- Lead civil and route design including trench layouts and reinstatement details.
- Ensure compliance with EirGrid/ESBN, IEC standards and planning requirements.
- Prepare planning design packages and deliverables for tender and construction.
- Coordinate with Substation, Civil, OHL teams and external planners.
