Job summary

Aviva in Ireland is seeking a Senior Governance Actuary to strengthen actuarial oversight and independent challenge across the business. You will support the Actuarial Function & Governance Lead, contribute to ARTP/AOTP reports and advise on material actuarial decisions with a focus on robust governance and risk management.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Finance, Risk, and Operations, and involves coaching colleagues while driving governance automation and standardisation.

Qualifications

• Qualified actuary or nearing qualification with life insurance or regulated financial services experience.
• Strong knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS and actuarial governance.
• Good judgement, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with documentation and control.

Responsibilities

• Deliver independent review, challenge and assurance across actuarial matters.
• Lead detailed reviews of assumptions, methodologies, models and results.
• Contribute to Actuarial Function reports and opinions (ARTP, AOTP, ORSA).
• Provide challenge on technical provisions, financial reporting, pricing, reinsurance and risk decisions.
• Translate complex analyses into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate across departments while maintaining assurance independence and governance improvements.
