Job summary

Grant Thornton Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Collections Specialist to join our FAAS Business Process Outsourcing team in Cork on a 12‑month contract. You will own complex international debtor portfolios, drive DSO improvements, and collaborate with Credit Risk and other stakeholders to support cash flow and risk management.

In this role you will influence credit decisions, manage escalations, and contribute to continuous improvement of OTC processes within a global finance function.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Credit & Collections within a multinational or shared services environment.
• Strong credit judgement and ability to manage sensitive customer interactions.
• Proven ability to analyse financial statements and assess risk.
• Experience supporting cross-functional stakeholders in cash flow improvement.

Responsibilities

• Manage a large, complex international debtor portfolio and drive DSO improvement.
• Follow up on due and overdue invoices with a structured collections approach.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk to assess customer credit limits per policy and history.
• Support credit block processes and ensure timely escalation when required.
• Prepare monthly DSO, aging, and flux analyses and highlight risks to management.
• Act as a finance partner to Commercial, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of credit and collections processes.
• Deliver high-quality customer service while balancing commercial objectives.
• Provide buddy cover and support to Credit & Collections team as needed.
