Job summary

Major Irish Main Contractor in Cavan is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead tender preparation for large-scale residential, healthcare and commercial projects. Based in Cavan with hybrid options, you will work closely with commercial, pre-construction and senior management to deliver competitive tenders from enquiry through handover.

• Manage the preparation of tenders for large scale construction projects

• Issue enquiries and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identify tender risks, opportunities and value engineering options
• Work closely with commercial, design and construction teams during the tender process
• Prepare tender adjudications and present submissions to senior management
• Support tender handover to the project and commercial teams following successful award

The Company

This major Irish main contractor has a strong track record delivering large scale residential, healthcare, commercial and mixed use developments across Cavan and throughout Ireland.

They have a substantial pipeline of secured work, including high rise apartment developments and multi million euro healthcare projects, and are planning significant growth over the next two years.

For an experienced Senior Estimator, this offers genuine scope to progress into senior management as the business and pre construction team continue to expand.

The Role: Senior Estimator

This is a senior position within the pre construction team, based in Cavan with hybrid working options available.

You will take responsibility for preparing and managing competitive tenders across major building projects, working closely with the commercial, pre construction and senior management teams from initial enquiry through to tender submission and handover.

The role will suit an experienced Senior Estimator with a strong Irish main contractor background who understands current construction costs, subcontractor markets and the level of detail required to successfully tender large scale projects.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have 7 to 10 years’ estimating experience within the construction industry
• Irish Main Contractor experience is required
• Proven experience required preparing tenders for large scale building projects
• Strong knowledge of Irish subcontractor and supplier markets

Preferred Experience

• Residential, apartment or healthcare project experience preferred
• Experience pricing projects from early stage through to final tender submission
• Strong commercial understanding of current construction costs in the Irish market

About You

You will be an experienced Estimator or Senior Estimator with a strong background working for an Irish main contractor.

You should have a detailed understanding of building costs, tendering, subcontractor packages and construction methods across major residential, healthcare or commercial projects.

You will be commercially sharp, comfortable taking ownership of large tenders and capable of working closely with senior management on bid strategy and project risk.
