Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects.
• Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Prepare Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation.
• Obtain and analyse quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Price labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages.
• Identify commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders.
• Prepare tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project teams.
• Review design information and assess impact of changes on project costs.
• Maintain accurate tender records and cost information.
• Support the commercial team with pre-construction activities.
• Ensure tenders are prepared and submitted accurately and within deadlines.

NexVentur is currently recruiting an Estimator on behalf of an established Irish building and civil engineering contractor.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to join an established commercial team and play a key role in the preparation, pricing and submission of tenders across a varied portfolio of construction projects.

The Role

Reporting to the senior commercial team, the Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders and supporting the business throughout the pre-construction and bidding process.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed and accurate estimates for construction projects
• Reviewing tender documentation, drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Preparing Bills of Quantities, pricing schedules and tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
• Pricing labour, materials, plant and subcontract packages
• Identifying commercial risks, exclusions and opportunities within tenders
• Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation
• Liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project teams
• Reviewing design information and assessing the impact of changes on project costs
• Maintaining accurate tender records and cost information
• Supporting the commercial team with pre-construction activities

Requirements
