Job summary

Global Professional Consultants seeks a Site Engineer/Site Manager to lead on Cork projects, with grooming towards Project Manager within 18 months. Mentorship by an experienced PM will guide progression. The role covers residential and commercial work with client and stakeholder liaison.

The ideal candidate has an engineering degree, 5+ years in Ireland/UK, and proficiency with Total Station. Full driving licence required; salary circa €75k-€85k DOE plus benefits.

Job description

Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland's top Developers are hiring a Site Engineer/Site Manager to be based in Cork. This role will suit an Engineer looking to progress to Project Management level. They will receive mentorship directly from a well-known and highly experienced Project Manager with the view to progressing to Project Manager level themselves within 18 months.

The successful candidate will be working across various residential and commercia projects.

Duties:

• Lead and manage the engineering function on site, ensuring timely availability of construction information and overseeing the planning and execution of technical works.
• Conduct precise setting out using total stations, GPS, laser levels, and other surveying equipment to ensure accuracy in construction.
• Liaise with the design team and stakeholders to ensure technical drawings and specifications are understood and delivered as intended.
• Coordinate and direct subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring their work aligns with project plans and quality standards.
• Supervise construction sequencing and monitor progress to ensure that key milestones and deadlines are achieved.
• Implement and uphold Health & Safety practices and ensure compliance with legislation, company standards, and best practice.
• Apply sound engineering principles to resolve challenges and contribute to design development, feasibility assessments, and value engineering.
• Maintain a professional image in all dealings, communicating effectively with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Engineering Degree
• Experience in Residential and or Civil/Groundworks projects
• Proficiency in use of Total Station
• 5+ years' experience with a main contractor / sub-contractor in a suitable role in Ireland or UK.
• Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivating to deliver on safety, quality & programme

Salary:

• Salary circa €75k - €85k NEG DOE
