Job summary

Global Professional Consultants seeks a Senior Engineer for Cork projects in life science, residential and commercial sectors. You will oversee engineering aspects, coordinate with site personnel and ensure delivery to high standards, with reporting to the Project Manager.

Requirements include a third-level Engineering qualification, 3+ years in construction engineering, concrete frame/building experience, and strong communication skills; driving licence is a must.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage junior engineers and subcontractors.

• Liaise with client representatives/Design Team.
• Ensure health and safety standards on site.

Job description

Due to continued growth, new contracts and an extensive pipeline of work, one of Ireland’s Tier 1 Building & Civil Engineering Contractors are hiring a Senior Engineer who has worked extensively in Construction for projects in Cork. You will be overseeing and ensuring high level quality work and ensuring it complies with the regulations and the general and specific specifications of the project. You will also be working closely with the site personnel to deliver the project to the highest possible standard.

Projects in Cork include life science, residential and commercial. Reporting to the Project Manager the Senior Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordination and supervision of all the engineering aspects throughout the project. The Senior Engineer will work closely with the site personnel to deliver projects to the highest possible standard.

Duties:

• Management of Junior Engineers & Subcontractors
• Setting-out from engineers’ drawings, site surveys, as-built drawings
• Reading & interpreting drawings for layouts, materials measure etc.
• Working with subcontractors/general workforce on site
• Planning works in an efficient manner to ensure programme targets are achieved
• Liaise with client’s representatives/Design Team members as appropriate
• Ensuring that all works are carried out to the highest Health and Safety standards
• Ensuring work is carried out to the highest of quality standards.
• Ordering and control of materials on site
• Maintaining the site records as required

Requirements:

• Completed a third level qualification in Engineering or related discipline
• Concrete frame and building experience are required.
• 3+ years of Experience in Construction Engineering
• Building Experience important
• Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills
• Self-motivating to deliver on safety, quality & programme
• Strong IT Skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Full driving license

Salary:

• Salary €80k-€85k NEG DOE
