Job summary

highr is recruiting an experienced Senior Engineer to join a leading residential construction team in Dublin. This is a site-based role overseeing engineering operations across two residential projects and working in direct contact with the Construction Director.

The successful candidate will be technically strong, highly organised and confident in managing technical submittals, RFIs, design information and engineering coordination, while mentoring the site team as required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience as Senior Engineer / Site Engineer on residential projects.
• Strong knowledge of submittals, RFIs and design coordination.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate technical submittals, RFIs, approvals and design information across both residential projects.
• Oversee and support two site-based Engineers, ensuring engineering works are delivered accurately and efficiently.
• Work closely with the Construction Director, providing regular updates on technical issues, progress and engineering requirements.
• Review drawings, specifications and construction details, identifying potential issues before they impact works on site.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors and the wider project team.
• Ensure all engineering works are completed in line with approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
• Oversee setting out, levels, drainage, utilities, groundworks and structural elements as required.
• Maintain accurate site records, as-built information and engineering documentation.
• Support the delivery programme by ensuring technical information and approvals are available when required.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to the site engineering team.
• Assist with resolving technical and construction-related issues across both projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or similar.
• Strong experience as a Senior Engineer / Site Engineer on residential construction projects.
• Excellent knowledge of technical submittals, RFIs and design coordination.
• Experience overseeing or mentoring other Engineers.
• Strong understanding of residential construction, including groundworks, drainage, structures and external works.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage engineering requirements across multiple live residential projects.
• Comfortable working directly with senior management and the Construction Director.
• Previous experience working with a main contractor or residential developer in Dublin is highly desirable.
