Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join one of Ireland's leading main construction contractors. This is a key appointment for a major project currently underway in Dublin.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review designs for buildability, maintain a schedule of issues, and provide mitigation solutions throughout the project.
• Coordinate and chase design information to ensure the construction team has all required details on time.
• Take full ownership of dimensional control, setting out, and primary control on site.
• Manage all temporary works within your scope (including managing the Temporary Works Coordinator).
• Develop and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), carry out inspections/audits, and enforce quality standards.
• Review and approve method statements and risk assessments, with particular focus on high-risk activities.
• Monitor the project programme (design, procurement & construction) and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
• Challenge designs where possible to deliver commercial and programme benefits.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to site engineers and ensure adequate engineering resources.
• Attend design and services coordination meetings and ensure full integration of building services.
• Identify and report any commercial or programme risks/events promptly to the Project Manager.
• Maintain detailed records and diaries for yourself and your team.
• Support subcontractor account close-outs and compile lessons learned throughout the project.
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety, quality systems, and company procedures.
• Manage performance, training, and development of assigned engineering staff.
