Job summary

A global leader in semiconductor and wireless technology is seeking talented Software Engineers to join its Core Platform Software Development team in Cork.

You will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to define product and software architecture, integrate drivers, and triage issues. This onsite role focuses on software integration, debugging, and delivering robust core platform software for current and future products.

Job description

We are partnered with a global leader in semiconductor and wireless technology who are looking for talented Software Engineers to join its Core Platform Software Development team.

This is an opportunity to work on advanced chipset technologies within a highly collaborative engineering environment, contributing to the software that supports current and future generations of products.

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to define product and software architecture requirements, integrate drivers and peripheral software, investigate system-level issues, and develop effective solutions using the latest cutting-edge technologies.

This role has a strong focus on software integration, debugging, and triage.

Please note this is a fully onsite role in Cork.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with cross-functional software teams to verify features and identify and debug software stability issues.
• Design and develop scalable build system software and tools used to generate various image flavours.
• Collaborate with Hardware and Systems Engineering teams to ensure Core Platform software meets power and performance KPIs.
• Partner with program management and product leads to develop software product roadmaps and delivery plans aimed at reducing time to market.
• Perform image and system-level sanity testing.

What Are We Looking For?

• Experience with software integration, source control, and testing.
• Working knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Experience developing software in C, C++, and assembly.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
• Strong critical-thinking and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of JTAG for on-chip debugging.
• Experience with build systems such as SCons and CMake.
• Experience with software source control tools, including Perforce, Git/Gerrit, and GitHub.
• Previous experience in embedded software development and device drivers.
• Previous experience working with the Zephyr open-source RTOS.
• A minimum of 2 years of industry experience in embedded software development and/or integration.
