Job summary

Electricity Supply Board (ESB) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for the Projects & Overhauls team within Generation Engineering. You will support overhaul planning, supplier liaison, and delivery of electrical plant overhauls across ESB's generation assets, including thermal and hydro.

The role requires at least 5 years in power generation, a primary degree in Electrical Engineering, and strong project management, safety, and contract oversight skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the power generation industry.
• Experience in design, construction, commissioning, maintenance or operation of electrical systems in power generation or related industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management.
• Project engineering and project management skills.
• Strong communication and report writing skills.
• Knowledge of HSE standards and risk assessment.
• Full clean driving license (B).
• Chartered status preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support overhaul planning and programme delivery.
• Support asset management and long-term asset planning.
• Develop understanding of electrical asset types across stations.
• Manage electrical contracts and procurement elements.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and ESB Standards.
• Implement inspection and test plans (ITPs) for electrical assets.
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality per Quality Plan.
• Conduct safety, environmental and quality audits; attend meetings.
• Plan and supervise outage planning and execution.
