Job summary

ESB is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for its Projects & Overhauls team in Generation Engineering. The role focuses on leading overhaul delivery for gas and steam turbine technologies, HRSGs, and related plant.

You will engage across assets, manage contracts, ensure safety and quality, and travel nationally or internationally as required. The position requires a primary mechanical engineering degree and 3+ years in power generation, with strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' relevant experience in power generation.
• Experience in design, construction, commissioning, maintenance or operation of mechanical systems in power generation.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Project engineering and project management capabilities.
• Proficient in MS Office and report writing.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Support overhaul planning and programme delivery.
• Develop asset knowledge for generation stations.
• Deliver mid-scale overhaul projects.
• Contract management and procurement.
• Ensure safety compliance with ESB standards.
• Prepare and implement ITPs.
• Supervise contractors and ensure quality.
• Conduct safety, environment and quality audits.
