Job summary

MEP Connections in Dublin seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across diverse sectors. You will drive project delivery from concept to handover and mentor junior engineers, while coordinating with directors on planning and budgets.

The role requires a degree in electrical or building services engineering, 5+ years in consultancy, and Chartered status or progression toward it, with strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design within a consultancy.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building systems and design software.
• Chartered or pursuing Chartered/Associate status.
• Excellent communication and leadership; able to manage priorities.
• Mentoring mindset and passion for team development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Engineer on small to medium projects and support larger ones.
• Collaborate with Directors on planning, budgeting and reporting.
• Develop project scope with clients and design teams.
• Participate in internal reviews and ensure quality from concept to handover.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior engineers.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Dublin team. This is a permanent position offering involvement in a broad range of project sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, hospitality, cultural, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Lead Engineer on small to medium-scale projects, and provide support on larger multidisciplinary projects


• Work closely with Directors and senior team members on project planning, budgeting, and reporting


• Develop project scope in collaboration with clients and design teams


• Take part in internal project reviews and ensure quality delivery from concept through to handover


• Provide technical mentoring and support to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and development

Candidate Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering


• Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical design within a consultancy environment


• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building systems and design software


• Chartered or working towards Chartered/Associate Engineer status


• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities


• Passion for mentoring and team development
