Job summary

The Panel seeks an IT Director - Banking Payments Technology & Agile Delivery to lead a large payments technology team at a leading Irish financial institution. You will own the technical roadmap, delivery governance and agile transformation.

The role requires 10+ years in technology leadership with 5+ years in payments, hands-on experience with SEPA, SWIFT, and ISO 20022, and a track record of delivering end-to-end platform projects at director level.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior technology leadership with 5+ years in payments within a regulated bank.
• Experience transitioning from traditional delivery to Tribe and Agile operating model.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of electronic payment schemes — SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT, BACS, Faster Payments, CHAPS, ISO 20022.

Responsibilities

• Set and own the payments technology roadmap aligned to business and enterprise strategy.
• Lead end-to-end delivery across payment platforms.
• Own the technology budget and drive value realisation across the function.
• Lead and develop Tech Leads across cross-functional Agile squads.

The Role

As Head of Payments Technology & AGILE delivery, you will own the technical roadmap and delivery governance for the entire payments platform function. You will lead a team of Tech Leads and cross-functional delivery squads, own the technology budget, and operate as a senior technology leader at Director level.

Responsibilities :

1. 1. Setting and owning the payments technology roadmap aligned to business and enterprise strategy
2. 2. Leading end-to-end delivery across payment platforms
3. 3. Owning the technology budget and driving clear value realisation across the function
4. 4. Leading and developing Tech Leads across cross-functional Agile squads
5. 5. Acting as the senior technology voice at Director and Board level
6. 6. Managing third-party vendor relationships and ensuring platform quality and resilience
7. 7. Driving risk, compliance and operational resilience across the payments estate

Experience

• Over 10+ years senior technology leadership experience with 5+ years focussed in payments(electronic) within a regulated bank or financial institution
• Demonstrated experience leading an organisation through the transition from a traditional delivery model to a Tribe and Agile operating model ( framework using squads, tribes, and chapters within an agile environment.)
• Deep, hands-on experience of **electronic payment schemes** — SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT, BACS, Faster Payments, CHAPS, ISO 20022
• A proven track record of end-to-end technology delivery ownership — not just oversight
• Experience leading leaders and managing senior technology teams
• Confidence operating at Director and Board level
