Job summary

MCS Group Consultancy is seeking a Payments Architect for a Dublin-based, day-rate contract under a hybrid work model. You will own end-to-end solution architecture across banking payment platforms, guiding integration, security, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include defining current and target architectures, governance, and collaboration with engineering, delivery, product, and senior banking stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as a Payments Architect or Solution Architect within banking.
• In-depth knowledge of payment platforms, processes and infrastructure.
• Experience across SEPA, SWIFT, ISO 20022, instant payments and cross-border payments.
• Strong understanding of APIs, systems integration and modern architecture principles.
• Experience delivering complex transformation or modernisation programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Previous banking experience is essential for this role.

Payments Architect Day Rate Contract Dublin Hybrid I am currently recruiting for a Payments Architect to join a major payments transformation programme on a day rate contract. You'll take ownership of the end-to-end solution architecture, working across business and technology teams to design secure, scalable and resilient payment solutions.

The Role

• Designing end-to-end architecture across complex payment platforms
• Defining current-state and target-state architecture
• Supporting the modernisation and integration of payment systems
• Providing architectural guidance across APIs, cloud platforms, data and legacy technologies
• Ensuring solutions meet security, regulatory, resilience and operational requirements
• Working closely with engineering, delivery, product and senior banking stakeholders
• Managing architectural governance, technical risks and key design decisions
