JJ Rhatigan & Company is recruiting a Senior Engineer in Galway to lead on buildability reviews, RFI management, and on-site coordination of multi-million-euro projects. You will liaise with design teams, PMs, and site personnel to ensure timely information flow, risk mitigation, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Review the design for buildability and issue schedule; update with PM.
• Ensure engineering resources and provide leadership to engineers.
• Coordinate with design team; manage RFI schedule and responses.
• Monitor project programme across design, procurement, and construction.
• Challenge design for commercial benefit where possible.
• Oversee dimensional control and setting out; ensure checks.
• Submit technical submissions within agreed timescales.
• Create Inspection & Test Plan (ITP) in line with Works Information.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments with safe systems.
• Carry out inspections and audits; delegate as needed.
• Define scope per package; approve subcontracts per specs.
• Coordinate safe temporary works; maintain register.
• Participate in weekly services engineering meetings; report resources and risks.
• Track package values and report events with commercial impact.
• Ensure design coordination for building services; attend design meetings.
• Apply project quality system and training as needed.
• Ensure contractor quality control and closure of actions.
• Coordinate timely information to avoid programme impact.
• Maintain diaries and reports with on-site management.
• Lead NCR register and weekly progress reports.
• Agree snagging process and handover plan.
• Provide lessons-learned and assist close-out of subcontracts.
• Advise on setting-out methods and materials procurement.
• Carry out all works in health and safety compliance.
• Adhere to JJR policies; manage team performance.
• Engage in learning, development, and performance reviews.
