Job summary

GemPool Recruitment in Dublin is seeking a hands-on Software Architect who has progressed from a strong software engineering background to shape cloud-native solutions, influence technical direction, and work closely with clients and engineering teams to solve complex business challenges.

You will define patterns and standards, produce architecture artefacts such as C4 diagrams and ADRs, and lead architectural decisions across microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems, while mentoring

Qualifications

• 12+ years hands-on software engineering with progression into software architecture or technical leadership
• 5+ years as Software Architect, Lead Architect, or Technical Lead on enterprise-scale systems
• Strong background in modern .NET or Java/Spring Boot ecosystems

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve software architecture across enterprise delivery programmes
• Lead architectural decisions across cloud-native, distributed and event-driven systems
• Produce architecture artefacts including C4 diagrams and ADRs
• Drive scalability, resilience, observability, and non-functional requirements across platforms
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural maturity across the organisation
• Collaborate with developers, QA, DevOps and Product teams throughout the SDLC
• Support CI/CD best practices and modern software engineering approaches
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders
