Job summary

ProSource Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for their Dublin office to lead design delivery across residential, education, commercial and regeneration sectors. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, mentor engineers and build strong client relationships to drive growth.

The role focuses on planning through to construction, coordinating resources, and maintaining quality standards while supporting fee proposals and business development.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Post-graduate experience in civil engineering design consultancy.
• Experience delivering projects across residential, education, commercial development or regeneration.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD and drainage design software such as Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with Engineers Ireland, ICE, CIHT, CIWEM or similar preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the civil engineering design and delivery of multiple projects from planning through to construction.
• Manage project teams and oversee engineers at varying levels of experience.
• Coordinate resources, programmes and technical deliverables to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, architects, design teams, public authorities and other stakeholders.
• Oversee planning applications, procurement processes and technical approvals.
• Monitor project budgets, profitability, resourcing and labour requirements.
• Identify potential risks and communicate these to senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers and support progression toward chartership.

ProSource are recruiting on behalf of our client, an award-winning engineering consultancy, for a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Dublin office.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role within a growing civil engineering team, delivering sustainable projects across the residential, education, commercial, development and regeneration sectors.

The successful candidate will lead projects, manage and mentor engineers, develop client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Role

• Lead the civil engineering design and delivery of multiple projects from planning through to construction.
• Manage project teams and oversee engineers at varying levels of experience.
• Coordinate resources, programmes and technical deliverables to ensure projects are completed to a high standard and within agreed deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, architects, design teams, public authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Oversee planning applications, procurement processes and technical approvals.
• Monitor project budgets, profitability, resourcing and labour requirements.
• Identify potential programme or commercial risks and communicate these to senior management.
• Review technical designs, calculations, reports, drawings and specifications.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their technical development and progression toward chartership.
• Identify team training, software and equipment requirements.
• Support fee proposals, bids and business development activities.
• Develop existing client relationships, secure repeat business and identify new project opportunities.
• Ensure project delivery complies with internal quality and management systems.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong post-graduate experience within a civil engineering design consultancy.
• Proven experience delivering projects across sectors such as residential, education, commercial development or regeneration.
• Strong knowledge of drainage, highways, external works and infrastructure design.
• Detailed understanding of planning applications, procurement and technical approval processes.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects, programmes, budgets and project resources.
• Previous team leadership or mentoring experience.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD and drainage design software such as Causeway Flow or MicroDrainage.
• Excellent technical report-writing, communication and presentation skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and client-facing ability.
• Chartered or Incorporated status with Engineers Ireland, ICE, CIHT, CIWEM or a similar professional institution is preferred.
