Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment in Dublin invites applications from experienced Civil Engineers to join its Civils and Infrastructure teams. The role covers feasibility, concept design through to detailed design, construction and project completion.

You will work on drainage, roads, water mains, earthworks and broader infrastructure, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and presenting solutions to clients. Mentoring and structured career development are provided, with opportunities for rapid progression

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years’ relevant Civil Engineering experience.
  • Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status with Engineers Ireland or an equivalent professional body.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental civil engineering principles.
  • Experience with roads, drainage, water infrastructure, earthworks or related civil engineering disciplines.
  • Good understanding of relevant Irish standards and technical guidance.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good planning and organisational abilities.
  • Customer-focused with an interest in developing client relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop civil engineering designs from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
  • Work across drainage, levels, roads, watermains, earthworks and wider infrastructure projects.
  • Apply relevant national and local authority standards and technical guidance, including GDSDS, IW CoP, DMURS, Cycle Design Manual, DMRB and TII Publications.
  • Prepare specifications and develop cost-effective civil engineering solutions.
  • Review and interrogate survey, site and baseline information to inform design solutions.
  • Use industry-standard design software to develop drawings, calculations and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate civil designs with structural, architectural and other multidisciplinary teams.
  • Present design solutions clearly to clients, colleagues and wider project teams.
  • Carry out site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Respond to contractor queries and provide technical support during construction.
  • Assist with the preparation of contract documentation for Public Works Contracts.
  • Support the administration of contracts and develop an understanding of project and commercial management.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers where appropriate.
  • Manage workload effectively and contribute to project planning and delivery.

Job Summary

Our client is expanding their Civils and Infrastructure teams in Dublin and is looking for experienced Civil Engineers to join their growing team. The successful engineers will work across a diverse portfolio of public and private sector projects, providing civil engineering services from initial feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, construction and project completion. This is a great opportunity for engineers looking to develop their technical expertise, gain exposure to large-scale national infrastructure projects and progress their careers within an expanding consultancy. Key Responsibilities
