Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is hiring a Business Development Manager for the Construction/Property sector. This field-based role focuses on winning new commercial clients across Ireland, expanding existing accounts and generating revenue from facilities management, reactive maintenance, and related services.

You will spend 80–90% of your time meeting clients, with 70% new business and 30% account management, reporting to senior management and shaping the role as the business grows.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in sales or business development.
• At least 2 years’ experience within construction, facilities management, building maintenance, property services or a related sector.
• Proven track record of winning new commercial clients and generating revenue.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction, maintenance or property-related services and pricing.
• Ability to generate leads and manage a sales pipeline independently.
• Ability to conduct site assessments and produce quotations with technical teams.
• Commercially focused and self-motivated.
• Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel across Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business through networking, referrals and direct outreach.
• Build relationships with property managers, landlords and facilities managers.
• Identify opportunities, arrange client meetings and present services.
• Attend sites to assess requirements and prepare clear reports.
• Work with Project Delivery Team to develop quotations and support deals.
• Manage the full sales process from lead generation to securing work.
• Develop existing accounts and encourage repeat business.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide regular updates.
• Support tender submissions, RFQs and commercial proposals.
• Collaborate with internal trades and project teams to communicate requirements.
• Build long-term client relationships with approved pricing and delivery commitments.
