Job summary

Camunda in Ireland is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend, to own automated reliability testing and chaos engineering at the core of Camunda 8. You’ll explore failure modes, design experiments, and push platforms to production readiness while collaborating with talented teammates who share our FAITH values.

You’ll apply Java, Go, Kubernetes and Grafana in a multi-language environment, drive observability, and influence product roadmaps with concrete results from your testing initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering (Java)
• Experience conducting automated reliability and chaos testing in distributed environments
• Strong focus on performance and fault-tolerance in production systems
• Autonomous, pragmatic problem-solving with ability to guide others
• Comfort using Camunda products and approaching reliability from a user perspective

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and execute automated chaos experiments and reliability tests for Camunda 8
• Investigate root causes and debug failures or performance regressions in Java-based products
• Improve load testing, chaos engineering and observability infrastructure
• Introduce new tooling for reliability testing and drive measurable improvements
• Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to share learnings and influence roadmaps
• Champion pragmatic, autonomous software design and learn new tech
• Advocate for user-centric reliability across Camunda products
