Job summary

On the Beach is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) in Dublin. You will design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and data processing pipelines across our platform, with a strong emphasis on cloud-native architectures and reliability.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver robust, observable software, deploying containerised apps on AWS and contributing to modern development practices within a hybrid working setup in Dublin.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial backend software engineering experience.
• Proven expertise with C# and .NET for modern backend apps.
• Designing and developing APIs for scalable services.
• Experience building distributed systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Developing cloud-native applications, ideally within AWS.
• Working with messaging, asynchronous processing or event-driven architecture.
• Designing reliable integrations with external/internal systems.
• Strong data modelling with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Building scalable systems handling high traffic.
• Performance optimisation, caching and latency reduction.

Responsibilities
