Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Tech Lead, Backend - GraphAware Hume based in Ireland to shape the backend platform for a graph-powered analytics product. You will own the architectural direction, drive graph strategy, and lead secure, scalable APIs across distributed teams.

You will contribute hands-on while mentoring engineers, optimizing Cypher performance, and aligning with product roadmaps. This role emphasizes autonomy and collaboration in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend engineering experience across large-scale, complex applications.
• Deep, hands-on Neo4j expertise with advanced Cypher optimization and graph-specific workloads.
• Strong graph data modelling experience for real-world domains.
• Proven technical leadership with ownership of architecture and direction.
• Strong Java/JVM expertise and experience with Spring or equivalent backend frameworks.
• Experience securing APIs and applying secure software design (OWASP).
• Working knowledge of CI/CD and cloud-native practices (Docker, automated deployments, observability).
• Ability to influence without formal authority and communicate across distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive platform architecture and technical direction across the engineering org.
• Own the graph technology strategy, evaluating releases and tooling for migrations.
• Optimize graph performance via Cypher optimization and data model improvements.
• Lead backend initiatives, building secure, modular APIs and platform services.
• Design secure access-control systems for mission-critical environments.
• Orchestrate graph-powered workflows for analytics and real-time insights.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to translate product goals into technical roadmaps.
• Provide technical mentorship and raise engineering standards across teams.
• Drive consensus for architectural changes and communicate trade-offs clearly.
• Contribute hands-on to design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
