Job summary

Jobgether is seeking an Engineering Manager based in Ireland to lead the core engineering teams for a global SaaS platform. You will balance hands-on coding with strategic leadership, guiding architecture, and multi-quarter roadmaps in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.

You will mentor engineers, drive AI-enabled workflows, improve reliability, observability, and security, and collaborate with Product and AI/ML partners to translate strategy into deliverables.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering management experience, ideally leading teams in agile, remote environments.
• Recent hands-on experience writing production code and designing or maintaining production systems.
• Strong ability to contribute directly to a codebase and unblock complex technical challenges.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic features in production.
• Solid experience with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, and React; API design exposure.
• Familiarity with GraphQL and Kafka is an advantage.
• Experience with observability and application performance tools (New Relic, Datadog, Sentry).
• Knowledge of security best practices in the SDLC and modernising legacy platforms.
• Previous SaaS experience is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work asynchronously with Product, AI/ML, and other stakeholders.
• Growth mindset and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical direction and coaching.
• Own the technical direction, architecture, and delivery roadmap for core platform domains.
• Design and deliver agentic workflows enabling AI systems to plan and adapt testing activities.
• Stay hands-on ~20–30% of time with production code and reviews.
• Modernise legacy systems and reduce technical debt without production disruption.
• Establish engineering practices for planning, design reviews, and delivery quality.
• Own production support, triage, root-cause analysis, and permanent fixes.
• Define service-level objectives, metrics, and observability practices.
• Maintain strong engineering standards including secure development and cloud usage.
• Introduce AI-assisted development into daily workflows and documentation.
• Translate business strategy into a sequenced technical roadmap from discovery to production.
