Job summary

Version 1 is seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure technology solutions across complex enterprise environments in Ireland. You will work across both on-premises and cloud environments, providing security architecture guidance and ensuring security is embedded throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience as Security Architect or in a comparable senior security role.
• Proven ability to design enterprise security solutions across cloud and on‑prem.

• Strong experience conducting security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect security solutions aligned with business requirements and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain security reference architectures, standards and patterns.
• Review existing security measures and recommend improvements to strengthen the security posture.
• Review designs to identify security risks and ensure proper controls.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk analyses to identify and mitigate threats.
• Assess effectiveness of security controls across cloud and on‑prem environments.
• Provide architectural guidance for security technologies including firewalls, VPNs, and network security.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, infrastructure and security teams to embed security.
• Review security incidents, provide analysis and remediation recommendations.
• Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans; contribute to security testing/exercises.
• Support policy, procedure and standard development and implementation.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Review artefacts and provide security guidance through the lifecycle.
• Research emerging threats and technologies and propose improvements.
• Mentor and share knowledge with other security professionals.
• Promote security best practices across the organisation.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure technology solutions across complex enterprise environments.

The successful candidate will work across both on-premises and cloud environments, providing security architecture guidance, assessing risks and vulnerabilities, and ensuring security is embedded throughout the design and delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect security solutions aligned with business requirements, security strategy and industry best practices.
• Develop and maintain security reference architectures, standards and architectural patterns.
• Review existing security measures and recommend improvements to strengthen the organisation's overall security posture.
• Review solution and project designs to identify security risks and ensure appropriate security controls are incorporated.
• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk analysis to identify and mitigate potential threats.
• Assess the effectiveness of security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Review and provide architectural guidance for security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs and network security solutions.
• Work closely with project managers, developers, infrastructure teams, system administrators and security teams to ensure security is embedded throughout technology delivery.
• Review security incidents, provide technical analysis and recommend appropriate remediation.
• Develop and maintain incident response and disaster recovery plans and contribute to security testing and simulation exercises.
• Support the development and implementation of security policies, procedures and standards.
• Ensure security solutions and practices align with relevant regulatory, compliance and legislative requirements.
• Review project artefacts and provide security architecture guidance throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Research emerging security threats, technologies and solutions and recommend improvements where appropriate.
• Provide guidance, knowledge sharing and mentorship to other security professionals.
• Promote security best practices and provide security guidance and awareness across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience working as a Security Architect, Cyber Security Architect or in a comparable senior security role.
• Demonstrable experience designing and architecting enterprise security solutions.
• Strong understanding of security architecture principles, standards and industry best practices.
• Experience designing security controls across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Strong experience conducting security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk analysis.
• Experience reviewing existing security architectures and recommending appropriate improvements.
• Strong knowledge of network security, including firewalls, VPNs and associated security controls.
• Experience integrating security requirements into technology projects and solution designs.
• Experience with security incident response, investigation, remediation and post-incident analysis.
