Job summary

E‑Frontiers is seeking an experienced Software Engineer in Test (SDET) for an 11‑month contract in Galway. The role blends software development with automated testing to build robust customer‑facing applications.

You will embed automation across the lifecycle, improve test coverage, and support faster releases. Strong Java/Ruby, Cucumber, and CI/CD experience are essential for success in this hands‑on role.

Qualifications

• 6-9 years of experience in software engineering or test automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and the Java ecosystem and/or Ruby.
• Experience developing and maintaining test automation frameworks.
• Experience with Cucumber.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript and RESTful web services.
• Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD environments.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and improve automated test solutions and customer-facing software.
• Develop and maintain automated unit, component, integration, functional, performance tests.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks using Java or Ruby, Cucumber and related technologies.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers and Scrum teams to improve testability and quality.
• Contribute to applications using Java, JavaScript/Angular and RESTful services.
• Participate in code and test-code reviews.
• Improve test coverage and release velocity.
