Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited in Dublin is seeking an SDE2 to work on the DMS replication engine supporting PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server endpoints. You will improve reliability and security for migrations of critical production databases globally, across multi-region deployments.

You will implement fixes, expand automated tests, and collaborate with database engineers to reproduce issues and ship verified fixes.

Qualifications

Experience in C/C++ programming or embedded development.
Experience with CDC and database replication concepts.
Experience with memory safety tooling (ASan, ThreadSanitizer, Helgrind).

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and ship fixes and features in the C/C++ replication engine for PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQL Server source/target endpoints.
Diagnose and resolve complex production issues—task crashes, memory corruption, CDC failures, data validation errors—using core dump analysis, memory profilers, and debugging.
Develop and expand automated test coverage using the Scalable Test Platform (STP), including testing scenarios with millions of parameter combinations.
Deliver security fixes within SLA and contribute to security compliance initiatives.
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and release management for deployment cadence serving thousands of production instances.
Collaborate with Database Engineers to reproduce and fix customer-reported issues, translating failures into root causes.
Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to accelerate defect detection and resolution.
Participate in on-call rotation, triaging production incidents and driving them to resolution.
