Job summary

Amazon RDS for SQL Server in Dublin is seeking a Software Development Engineer to own significant features end-to-end. You'll work on distributed systems spanning authentication, third-party integrations, and tooling to help customers migrate and manage workloads.

You will design and deliver complex components, mentor junior engineers, and raise the technical bar through reviews and collaboration with product managers.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead design discussions for medium-to-large features, balancing performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Work on third-party integrations and security capabilities.
• Improve automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate customer needs into technical deliverables.
