Job summary

Amazon RDS for SQL Server in Dublin is seeking a Software Development Engineer to own significant features end-to-end. You'll work on distributed systems at scale, lead design discussions, and mentor junior engineers to raise the technical bar.

You will collaborate with product managers and partner teams to translate customer needs into technical deliverables, drive improvements in security, automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines, and help enable migrations to our managed service across AWS

Qualifications

Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
Experience designing or architecting scalable systems.
Experience programming with at least one programming language.
Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full SDLC, including coding standards, architectures, code reviews, and deployments.

Responsibilities

Own and lead design discussions for medium-to-large features, balancing performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
Work on third-party integrations and security capabilities.
Improve automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines to raise quality and operational excellence.
Troubleshoot production issues and drive immediate fixes and long-term corrective actions.
Mentor junior engineers, participate in design and code reviews, and uphold engineering standards.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate customer needs into technical deliverables.
