Job summary

Amazon in Dublin is seeking a Software Development Engineer to own and deliver significant features end-to-end for RDS SQL Server. You will lead design discussions, work on third-party integrations, and improve CI/CD pipelines while mentoring junior engineers and upholding engineering standards across a distributed, scale-out service.

You will collaborate with product managers and partner teams to translate customer needs into robust technical deliverables, shaping the security and reliability

Qualifications

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development.
• Experience designing or architecting scalable systems (design patterns, reliability, and scalability).
• Experience programming with at least one programming language.
• Knowledge of SDLC, code reviews, source control, CI/CD, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead design discussions for medium-to-large features across performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
• Work on third-party integrations and security capabilities.
• Improve automation, testing, and CI/CD pipelines to raise quality and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive immediate fixes and long-term corrective actions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
