Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited seeks a highly skilled AWS DMS Database Engineer to diagnose complex replication and migration failures, guide customers through production incidents, and design scalable migration strategies.

You will work cross-functionally with SDEs, data engineers, and support teams to improve tooling and resilience across PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and DB2 environments.

Qualifications

• Experience diagnosing complex replication and migration failures across heterogeneous databases.
• Ability to design data validation schemes for large migrations.
• Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills in production environments.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve escalations involving heterogeneous database migration and replication.
• Perform root cause analysis on production incidents and identify source of issues.
• Design and validate migration strategies for large-scale engagements.
• Develop test scenarios for migration paths and parameter combinations.
• Collaborate with engineers to reproduce customer edge cases in code and tests.
• Contribute to pre-migration assessment rules to detect misconfigurations.
• Enhance AI-powered diagnostic tools to speed troubleshooting.
• Author runbooks and knowledge articles for support teams.
