Job summary

Roughan & O'Donovan (ROD) is seeking a Land Liaison Officer for the N4 Mullingar to Longford project based in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.

The role is a specified purpose contract focused on facilitating access and information exchange with landowners and stakeholders along the route. You will work on-site during the week, coordinating with contractors and local authorities, and ensure accurate land ownership records while upholding planning requirements.

Qualifications

  • Background in construction and/or stakeholder management.
  • Understanding of urban road construction and its impacts.
  • Understanding of farming practices.
  • Excellent people skills.
  • Strong note-taking skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong technical writing and speaking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to navigate GIS.
  • Full driving license and access to own vehicle.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

  • providing information to land and property owners affected by the project
  • agreeing access to privately owned lands for contractors carrying out advance works and surveys as part of the project
  • agreeing the nature and extent of accommodation works required for each affected stakeholder for inclusion in the project design
  • assessing the accuracy of land ownership records held by the local authority and confirming these records with individual stakeholders
  • making all reasonable enquiries to establish the identity of landowners
