Job summary

Roughan & O’Donovan in Ireland seeks a senior resident engineer for a 24-month contract on the N25 Rosslare Europort Access Road project in Rosslare, Co. Wexford.

The role leads the site team, supervising 1.45 km of new/ improved carriageway, with features including a rail over bridge and two access underpasses. You must have Chartered status, a Level 8 engineering degree, and extensive road/rail project experience.

Qualifications

• A Level 8 degree in engineering.
• At least eight years’ post-graduate experience as a senior resident engineer on road/bridge projects.
• Chartered engineer status (CEng MIEI or equivalent).
• Experience administering PW-CF3 public works contracts.
• Experience in railway environment supervision.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the employer’s representative in the performance of duties.
• Administer the PW-CF3 contract for civil works designed by the employer.
• Manage the site-based team and monitor execution per contract.
• Review contractor submissions, including method statements and traffic/environment plans.
• Review technical queries and liaise with the design team on design matters.
• Liaise with stakeholders and utility providers.
• Carry out daily site inspections and witness testing.
• Raise and close out non-conformance reports.
