Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Research & Development Engineer on behalf of a leading manufacturing and engineering company based in Co. Mayo.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to develop their career within an innovative and growing organisation. Candidates with 1+ years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply. Strong graduates with relevant internships, placements, or project experience will also be considered.

The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to support the development of new products, improve existing processes, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support research and development projects from concept through to implementation
• Assist with product design, testing, and validation activities
• Conduct technical investigations and feasibility studies
• Analyse engineering data and prepare technical reports
• Work collaboratively with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams
• Support continuous improvement projects across the business
• Assist in solving technical and production-related challenges
• Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, Mechatronics, Industrial or related Engineering discipline
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in engineering, manufacturing, or R&D preferred
• Strong graduates with relevant project work, internships, or placements will also be considered
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office

Desirable Skills

• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and product development
• Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical, or engineering manufacturing sectors
