About the Role:
Our client, an innovative organisation based in County Galway, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of commercial and research & development projects The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting projects from concept through to delivery, including the design and manufacture of components and completion of all relevant project documentation. You will work closely with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered to agreed cost, schedule, quality and performance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the delivery of commercial and R&D projects across aviation, space, renewable energy and mobility.
- Manage project requirements, including scope, schedule, budget and deliverables, ensuring appropriate reviews and sign-offs are completed.
- Liaise directly with customers, suppliers and project partners throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Operations and Quality teams to plan and deliver complex projects.
- Conduct research activities and prepare and submit project reports and technical documentation.
- Support the design and manufacture of innovative, high-performance composite components.
- Develop, implement and maintain process control and quality management procedures in line with project requirements.
- Support the development of the companys research agenda and contribute to research proposals and commercial quotations for national and international funding bodies and commercial stakeholders.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping, organisation and 6S across manufacturing and research areas.
- Work within cleanroom and industrial production environments as required.
- Cross-train across the wider team and organisation to support business requirements.
- Undertake additional duties within your skills and experience as required to support the evolving needs of the business.
Experience Required:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Design or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a project engineering, manufacturing or R&D environment is desirable.
- Working knowledge of CAD/SolidWorks is desirable.
- Knowledge and practical understanding of manufacturing methods and processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- A proactive, positive attitude with a strong drive to achieve results and contribute to the success of the organisation.
