Job summary

Arcon Recruitment is recruiting an R&D Project Engineer for an established Mayo-based engineering and manufacturing company. You will manage research and development projects from initial concept through design, testing, evaluation and implementation.

You will work closely with the R&D Manager and wider engineering team to develop new products, improve existing designs and introduce more efficient working methods.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical design and product development would be advantageous.
• Advanced SolidWorks skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination.
• Experience with CAD automation software such as DriveWorks would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned research and development projects.
• Attend weekly meetings and present updates on the progress of R&D projects.
• Develop, document and continuously improve internal R&D processes.
• Prepare, update and manage project Gantt charts.
• Work with the R&D Manager to prioritise projects and establish delivery targets.

Arcon Recruitment is recruiting an R&D Project Engineer for an established engineering and manufacturing company in County Mayo.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer or Design Engineer who would like to develop a career in research, development and product innovation.

The successful candidate will manage engineering research and development projects from initial concept through design, testing, evaluation and implementation. They will work closely with the R&D Manager and wider engineering team to develop new products, improve existing designs and introduce more efficient working methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage assigned research and development projects.

Candidate Requirements

• Honours degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design, product development, manufacturing or building-services engineering would be advantageous.
• Advanced SolidWorks skills.
• Proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination.
• Experience using CAD automation software such as DriveWorks would be beneficial.
• Understanding of engineering product development and evaluation.
• Strong technical research and report-writing abilities.
• Ability to create clear technical instructions and user guides.
• Excellent creative-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organisational and project-management abilities.
• Ability to plan work, establish priorities and meet project deadlines.
